The Thermal Switch Kit is designed for N8XJK Super (Fan) Boosters that were purchased before 2010. The Switch will help keep the Fan from running unnecessarily. When the Booster¿s temperature reaches 115 degrees Fahrenheit, the Thermal Switch will close and allow the fan to run. This will help extend the life of the fan as well as eliminate unneeded fan noise for short operations. Installation is easy. You will need the following: Soldering Iron. Solder. Wire cutters. Wire Stripper. A sharp object such as a safety pin. A lighter or heat gun for shrinking the heat shrink. Silicone Glue or Rubber Cement. The switch is connected to the fan and simply placed inside the booster, next to the back wall. Only the cover and Fan Connector needs to be removed for installation.
